Disappointment in the Vase

The club’s debut in the FA Vase didn’t go to plan after conceding 2 early goals. The 2 goal setback was always going to be challenge to claw back and despite being better after the break, they couldn’t get quite manage a goal to create panic in the Cadbury ranks. It was a good learning curve though and hopefully one that can be used going forward. The manager had this to say:

When you concede 2 early goals in any game, you leave yourself a mountain to climb. Unfortunately for us we weren’t able to get ourselves back into the game. We created some good opportunities in the second half but didn’t take them. Credit to Cadbury they have a style of playing and they do it effectively. Now it is time for us to focus back on the league and get ourselves up the table. We have the timely boost of having our cricketers back fresh from winning their league, which will help. Hopefully this weekend we can put the right sort of performance together to get the win in our local derby with Shifnal.

The club would just like to thank Cadbury Athletic for their hospitality on the afternoon and would like to wish them all the best in the next round and for the rest of the season.

Remember we return to league action at home this weekend playing against Shifnal Town, kick off 3pm.
